陈锦芳博士

Dr. T.F. Chen – Master artist, visionary, Cultural Ambassador with the Friends of the United Nations, Global Tolerance Award recipient, and Founder of the Arts for Humanity World Tour – is captivated with his new theme – the upcoming Summer Olympics in Beijing.

After a recent visit to China, Dr. Chen was profoundly moved by the energy and hope of the people of China for this landmark event. As an artist who has spent over half a century creating a body of work that reflects the achievements of humanity and hope for a world family in peace, he saw an opportunity to contribute his vision of global harmony onto this momentous event. He cleared his busy schedule and set up a studio in Beijing to paint. Chen plans on creating 66 masterpieces for this Series, to commemorate the 29th Summer Olympic Games in August 2008.

Dr. T.F. Chen initiated his signature style of “Neo-Iconography” in 1969, which appropriates “icons” from throughout human and art history -- placing them together in contexts that defy time, space, and cultural barriers; resulting in a stunning, eclectic composition. How fitting for such a historic, international event!

Dr. Chen is also known as the “Centennial Artist,” and has painted several 100-painting tributes to many of his inspirations on the occasion of their Centennials – such as “The Spirit of Liberty Series,” “Post – Van Gogh Series,” and “Jade Mountain Series.” These powerful, large-scale series have shown in museums around the world and been featured extensively in the media.

As a “world citizen,” Dr. Chen once again picks up his brush and embraces the challenge of creating a series of paintings in homage to the 29th Summer Olympic Games in Beijing this August.

Chen shows permanently at his Cultural Center in SoHo, NYC; and at the Hong Yuan Bldg in 798 Art District, Beijing; and at the Gallery New World, Taipei. For more information, please contact Lucia Chen

The Arts For Humanity World Tour aims to share, organize and develop educational programs through the Arts worldwide. We invite you to help us to foster the value of Art and Music as powerful vehicles for global peace.

Dr. T.F. Chen, the initiator and “Cultural Ambassador” of this project is regarded as “one of the top 20 most influential artists in the modern age.” As a Master Artist with historical vision and cultural mission, Chen received the “Global Tolerance Award” from the Friends of the United Nations, initiated the art style of “Neo-Iconography,” and founded the T.F. Chen Cultural Center in SoHo, NYC.
