艺术改变生活，艺术引领消费
当今中国，经济高速增长，社会急剧转型。这一切，带来了人们精神需求的巨大释放和生活方式的迅疾变化。新世纪以来，当代艺术和创意文化已然成为中国社会文化建构的主流力量。但是大众审美素养的匮乏和缺失，仍构成当代文化自我建构和自我更新的一个瓶颈。消费社会背景下，人们对生活质量和精神品质的不断追求，造就了中国社会日常生活和家居条件日新月异的现实。艺术化生存、时尚化生存的理念越来越深入人心，成为一种时代精神的体现。当下，普通、无个性的设计元素已远远满足不了大众时尚甚至前卫的生活品味。
其实，艺术家的创作也在以另一种形式引领生活时尚的流变。艺术与时尚设计的“跨界”交织、交错自然就生成了流行文化的一种趋向。于是，艺术家把艺术衍生品的创作和生产，看作是对社会文化的主动塑造、或互动参与。他们的艺术衍生品就是要在昂贵的原作与大众艺术消费之间架起一道亮丽、炫目的彩虹。
艺术家通过艺术衍生品把更新颖的艺术观念和更精致的美学气质融入到大众的日常生活情境中，借助日常化、生活流的方式将当代艺术的语言和精神传达给社会，不断改变人们的生活态度。艺术衍生品正在给中国式日常生活的变革注入全新的体验，也必将在未来的全球大众文化中扮演不可或缺的角色。（白盒子艺术馆）

“西安派”由多位来自西安的艺术家组成。盒子的设计灵感来源于西安“肉夹馍”,盒子里可以装3张画，下面这层代表传统，上面是纺织城----社会主义的遗产，中间则是“自己”。“自己”被夹在社会主义和历史之间，这就是现实。
‘Xi’an Pie’ is a group of numbers of artists who are from Xi’an City. The inspiration of Art Hamburger came from Xi’an Hamburger—one kind of common food in Xi’an City. There are three paintings in the box, the bottom one stands for tradition, while the top one represents textile industry -- a heritage of socialism, and the one in middle is a symbol of self-identity. Putting ‘self-identity’ in the mezzanine implies the fact that people always survive in the tiny gap between history and socialism.

Wu Yongping has the ability for employing any kind of contemporary art technique in his artwork, as long as it could help to express his concept. The process of thinking and creating brings him the pleasure of communication between his own hands and the inner mind – it not only showcases artist’s penmanship and character, but also clearly conveys his personal viewpoint.
