2. Forum

Location: Third floor, Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art
Address: No.27 Duolun Road, Shanghai,China Theme: Welcome to Shanghai x Designer as Author
Globalization and the rapid development of China's economy are gradually shaping Shanghai into an immigrant city. Today, you can meet people from anywhere with different cultures and languages in this city. Those people are bringing new differences and conflicts not only to themselves but to the city; they accept the shape of lifestyle in Shanghai and shape the lifestyle to Shanghai. More and more abundant cultural mixture is continuously supplying new power for Shanghai
Shanghai is a mature commercial city. This makes Shanghai become very practical, but this will make Shanghai lose its ambition to pursue her dream and lose her courage to face the conflict. This city has the power to accept all known but it is, at the same time, losing the ability to create all unknown. In this powerful and uniform commercial world, it is easy for the designers who are living in Shanghai to lose their own personalities; instead, they become commercial machines like slaves and live on the confining meaning of the design!
We focus on the relationship between design migration and Shanghai design, stress that the designers are not follow their clients blindly, advocate giving them the idea of design migration and personalized work space, make them become the idealistic writers and contributors to this city. The culture in Shanghai is also mature and charming just as her commerce. This not just needs brightness, but it requires more courage as well!
