Pan Quanhai
Born in GuangXi, China, Quan Hai Pan began demonstrating his artistic talent at an early age of six. In order to further develop his exceptional skills and interests for drawing, Pan attended the College of Art and Film in GuangXi. After completing his extensive two-year training, he yearned for more challenges to study the artworks of the world’s famous masters and artists. Pan applied and was one of twelve students in whole country selected to attend the most prestigious Art Academy in Beijing, China, in 1988.
Since early childhood, Pan’s talent was continually nurtured by his ceaseless passion to perfect his artworks. He actively took private lessons to master Chinese calligraphy. At the same time, he visited many museums and galleries to study the famous masters – Monet, Renior, Pissaro, and Cezanne among others. He also studied and absorbed the works of the great masters of French Impressionism through books and magazines. From impressionism to expressionism, from the splash ink of Chinese master Bada Shanren to the powerful stroke of De Kooning, Pan embraced the very best from both eastern and western cultures. Subsequently, the convergence of these two different art styles shaped Pan’s unique approach to painting, evoking a response that continue to define his distinctive and unique technique in today’s modern art world. It was Monet’s overwhelming influence blending with his own style that molded Pan’s masterful treatment of water lilies both active and mysterious, and full of power. His passionate brushstrokes, bold swaths of lush color, and heavy impasto will capture the human eye and mind, enliven the ordinary, and inspire individuals to be absorbed and drawn into the absolute moment of awareness as being one with the painting.
Currently, Pan’s artworks are shown in galleries of several US major cities – New York, Dallas, Austin, and Houston. His paintings are now sought after by many art connoisseurs. To perfect his style and technique, he continues to capture the timeless romance and natural beauty, and invites everyone to experience the great Chinese expressionism and journey with him towards his inner world to bear and experience his message of love and beauty.
