北极猴子乐队领跑2014NME音乐奖提名
据国外媒体报道，2014年NME音乐奖提名刚刚揭晓，北极猴子乐队(Arctic Monkeys)及主唱阿莱克斯-特纳(Alex Turner)一共获得了包括“最佳专辑”，“最佳现场乐队”和“最佳英国乐队”在内的八项提名，是本届NME音乐奖中获提名最多的音乐人。
除了北极猴子乐队之外，女子组合Haim，Palma Violets乐队和石器时代皇后乐队(Queens of the Stone Age)也都获得了多个奖项的提名。在最佳国际乐队奖的争夺中，石器时代皇后乐队和Haim组合的对手有加拿大独立摇滚名团“拱廊之火”(Arcade Fire)和美国独立乐团僵尸周末(Vampire Weekend)。在年度最佳歌手奖的竞争中，大卫-鲍伊(David Bowie)和保罗-麦卡特尼(Paul McCartney)两位老将将面临杰克-巴格(Jake Bugg)，丽莉-艾伦(Lily Allen)和新西兰新人Lorde等几位后辈的挑战。
出道不久的Haim组合本次拿到了三项提名，在接受采访时她们说：“能够获得今年NME奖的提名我们非常的激动！这是我们第一次获得提名，所以非常开心。”在2014年的英国流行音乐排行榜中，Haim组合的首张正式专辑《Days Are Gone》曾获得冠军。
在年度英雄与年度恶人两个奖项的提名中，拉塞尔-布兰德(Russell Brand)同时上榜，在年度英雄奖的提名中，去年去世的美国摇滚先驱娄-里德(Lou Reed)和在俄罗斯被囚禁的朋克乐团Pussy Riot榜上有名。而在年度恶人奖的提名中，2013年频登各大媒体头条抢镜无数的麦莉-塞勒斯(Miley Cyrus)入围，和麦莉同时入选提名的包括英国首相大卫-卡梅隆，One Direction组合主唱哈里-斯泰尔丝(Harry Styles)以及俄罗斯总统普京。
随着提名名单的公布，第一轮的投票已经开始。本届NME音乐奖颁奖礼将于英国当地时间2月26日在伦敦举行，据悉，投票将于当地时间2月21日截止。在去年的NME音乐奖中，获奖的音乐人包括比菲克莱罗乐队(Biffy Clyro)，杀手乐队(The Killers)和前史密斯乐队吉他手约翰尼-马尔(Johnny Marr)。
