据外国媒体报道，英国当地时间8月24日，2012年英国水星奖（Mercury Prize）候选提名名单揭晓，而35张候选提名专辑当中，来自英国里兹的新晋另类乐团三角（Alt-J）、流行乐团佛罗伦萨和机器(Florence &The Machine)以及英国流行电子乐手Bright Light Bright Light最被看好拿下今年水星奖。
据爱尔兰著名博彩公司帕迪鲍尔(Paddy Power)给今年候选提名的35张专辑所开出的赔率中，Alt-J乐团的首张大碟《An Awesome Wave》最被看好，获奖赔率为4/6，Bright Light Bright Light的《Make Me Believe In Hope》以6/1的赔率紧随其后。至于英国摇滚乐队Sweet Billy Pilgrim的热门专辑《Crown and Treaty》和英国人气乐团Florence + the Machine的《Ceremonials》以及四人迷幻乐团Django Django 的同名处子作《Django Django》等专辑的赔率仅次于Alt-J和Bright Light Bright Light，均为12/1。
此外，今年有份当任伦敦奥运开闭幕式嘉宾的英国独立歌手艾梅丽-桑德(Emeli Sandé) 今年发布的全新专辑《Our Version Of Events》也以16/1的赔率名列前位。酷玩乐队（Coldplay）以及英国独立电子女歌手Jessie Ware以20/1的赔率位列第11位。而主办方将会在英国时间9月12日揭晓最后入围的12张提名大碟，其中当晚水星音乐奖颁奖礼则将于11月1日在伦敦举行，届时获得提名的全部音乐人会在颁奖礼上登台献唱。（编译／may）
