一直致力于发现并推出当代艺术新锐的北京新时代画廊，将于2008年12月6日举办艺术家“曾庆国个展”。
此次展览的主题是“情境”（Emotional Situation）。它源于艺术家境由心造，融情于物，情景交融。艺术家以微观的视角观察宇宙万象，创造出一个个灵动的内在世界。这是心境、物境和事物的相互作用的结果。
艺术家以中国传统式的屏风、门、窗等的意象，构成对空间的虚拟有机分割；以写实的手法，展现着自然界那些所谓“低等”、“无视”的小昆虫——一个个灵魂飘逸的生命精灵，那些画面的主角；散漫、静谧、流动的光，“一种运动，一种震颤，一种穿透的欲望”（曾庆国语），给予画面深邃神秘的虚幻空间；典雅沉稳的色调，生成静寂朦胧的意境。这是一个别样的情境世界，我们似曾相识而又陌生。那虚幻、空灵、静谧，那舞动的精灵、淡淡的光芒，幽秘的空间，抚慰着人的心灵。涤荡着内在的心灵，感动着万物的感动。
作品中那飞翔的“低等”的小生物和虚幻“无生命”的物质，生成一种密切的关系和有机的生命统一体。体现了一切物质是有生命的──一种泛神论的信念与态度，即人，可以与万物进行交流。它们透视出我们的世界，承载着我们的思想，寄托着我们的情感，这是一个灵异奇光、无限生动、变幻莫测而又和谐统一的世界。
中国传统文化中，向来就有“对自然世界之敬意与惜物贵物之精神”。中国先哲之自然观，表现在中国人对自然的审美感情，即视自然万物皆含德性，人与自然皆直接感通，且人当对自然有情，人在日常生活中亦重在顺自然而生活等。艺术家从微观的视角，巧妙地运用中国传统文化的造境根基与艺术功能，创造出一种“无我之境”与“有我之境”，寻找着天人合一的观念。
也许，人与人、人与自然万物的和谐共生，成为现代社会的一种追求；生活的“无为”与恬静淡泊，成为现代生活的另一种追求情境。在一个物欲横流、繁华喧闹的社会中，以“无为”为乐的哲学家们的理想生活，似乎更能达到一种终极价值与目的。在自己所营造的情境世界中，象那些舞动的精灵，自由地飞翔，自由地思考，自由地生活，体味着当代人、当代生活的内心追求与感受。

Beijing New Age Gallery, committed to discovering and introducing to the public young contemporary artists, is going to hold Zeng Qingguo’s Solo Exhibition entitled “Emotional Situation” on Dec. 6, 2008.
The organic painted surface constructs an evasive and infinite space; the elegant and sober cold tones create an atmosphere of tranquility and shadowiness; the elegant and nimble elfins fly in silence, giving off an eerily brilliant light and leaving behind them shining traces of life. This is a unique world, familiar but also strange. The intangibility, the shadowiness, the tranquility, the dances of the elfins, and the pale traces of light all disturb the viewer’s heart. Here, when all his thoughts, moods and emotions are projected into natural existences, the viewer’s soul is purified, and he is able to share the feelings of these natural existences.
Resorting to the mood-creating techniques and artistic functions of traditional Chinese culture and adopting a microscopic perspective, the artist pursues a “world without me”, a “world with me”, and the perfect harmony between man and the universe. The harmonious coexistence of man and man, man and the natural substances is a desired goal of modern society. Perhaps, a life of “inaction”, simplicity and tranquility has become the dream of modern man. In his self-created world of moods, man flies, meditates and lives like those dancing elfins, experiencing the unique pursuits and feelings of contemporary man as well as contemporary life.
