He was born in Fuzhou, Fujian in March 1956. He is a doctor of fine arts (with postdoctoral work experience), a researcher and a doctoral tutor at the Chinese National Academy of Arts, the deputy director of the Institute of Fine Arts at the Chinese National Academy of Arts, a member of the Academic Committee of the Institute of Fine Arts at the Chinese National Academy of Arts, and an editorial board member of the Art Observation. He directed or participated in the key planning projects of the"10th Five-Year" national art science program, the projects of the Ministry of Culture, the planning projects of the"8th Five-Year" national philosophy and social science program, and the planning projects of the"10th Five-Year" philosophy and social science program in Beijing.
