红门画廊即将于2009年7月4日在东便门角楼举行名为《中国形式》的联展。本次联展将对今日中国艺术中的形式主义风格进行探索。

“中国的艺术家以一种与西方艺术家迥异的方法来探索形式主义风格，”红门画廊艺术总监裴大利表示，“这种现象在抽象艺术作品中表现得尤为显著。本次联展将从艺术家的不同角度来描绘形式主义风格在不同艺术家眼中各具特色的定义。

本次联展的参展艺术家包括蒋巍涛、韩情、李刚、史钟颖、谭平、周吉荣和周军。参展艺术家所使用的材料及画风的多样性将给予联展主题以全景化的诠释。

画廊将于2009年7月4日下午3点至5点在东便门角楼举行本次联展的开幕招待会。本次展览将持续至7月26日。

RED GATE FORMALISM SHOW SET FOR JULY

BEIJING June 19, 2009 – Red Gate Gallery will open the group show, CHINAFORM, on July 4, 2009 at the Dongbianmen Watchtower location. The show will explore the directions of formalism in today’s Chinese art.

“Chinese artists approach formalism very differently from Western artists,” Director Tally Beck comments, “and we see this evidenced strongly in abstraction, for example. This show will illustrate different conceptualizations of formalism from the artists’ perspective.

The participating artists include Jiang Weitao, Han Qing, Li Gang, Shi Zhongying, Tan Ping, Zhou Jirong and Zhou Jun. The diversity of media and styles of these artists will afford a panoramic exploration of the theme.

There will be an opening reception of the show on Saturday, July 4, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Watchtower. The show will run through July 26.
