玛吉画廊（马德里）荣幸地向您宣布，金石将于6月18日在本画廊举办艺术家的首次个展。此次展览名为“不现实的现实”，展览将一直持续到7月31日。个展将全面展示金石近年来创作的关于中国底层社会现实生活状态的装置与摄影作品。

在“不现实的现实”中，“现实”不再是明白无误的东西，而是一种需要被定义、被形容的状态。也就是说作为名词的“现实”其实什么也没说，它指涉了我们眼前的、当下的、可以直接经验到的状态。现实只能是在一种前话语的状态下才具有现实的实在性，或者说，现实作为一种实在状况，具有对定义的抗药性。而“不现实的现实”这种修辞，其潜在的含义是，作为实在的现实正在偏离关于现实的话语，或者说，现实的“标准”状态。

金石1976年生于中国河南，毕业于中国美术学院雕塑系，现生活、工作于杭州。2008年在上海美术馆举行的第七届上海双年展上，一件名为《1/2生活》装置作品使金石受到广泛的关注。金石的这件作品按比例缩微手工复原了一间中国底层社会居民的居所，正如金石所言，他通过对细节的偏好得以让观众捕捉到了“一种肖像的意味”，而本次个展就是这一纪实风格的继续与拓展，《1/2生活》将与《营•生》、《三轮车》系列等装置作品一同向我们展示金石所发现的中国底层社会现实的方方面面，以及深埋其中的世俗活力与幽默情绪。更重要的是，这些作品不只体现出艺术家本人对于边缘生活的人性关怀，它们还激发出潜于观众内心的对于存在感的普遍寻求。

Magee Art Gallery (Madrid) is honored to announce that it will hold the first solo exhibition of artist Jin Shi. This exhibition is named “Unrealistic Reality” and will be shown until 31st July. The solo exhibition will show comprehensively Jin Shi’s recent installation and photography works about the real living status of Chinese bottom society.

In “Unrealistic Reality”, “reality” is not a definite thing, but a kind of status that needs to be defined and described. In other words, as a noun, “reality” doesn’t speak out anything; it refers to our current status that can be directly experienced. Only in a pre-parlance status, can reality possess actuality. In other words, as an actual status, reality is immune to definition. The substantial meaning of “Unrealistic Reality” is that as actuality, reality is deviating from the parlance about reality or the “standard” status of reality.

Jin Shi was born in Henan Province. He graduated from the Department of Sculpture, China Academy of Fine Arts. Now he lives and works in Hangzhou In 2008, in the 7th Shanghai Biennial held in Shanghai Art Museum, an installation work named “1/2 Life” has made Jin Shi gain much attention. Some houses of the bottom society inhabitants are proportionally reduced and reproduced in this work. Just as Jin Shi said, through his favor of details, he was able to make the audience catch “a sense of portrait”. This solo exhibition is exactly the continuation and development of this documentary style. “1/2 Life”, “Make a Living”, “Tricycle” series , together with other installation works, will show us different aspects of a real Chinese bottom society in Jin Shi’s eyes, as well as the earthly vigor and humorous emotion buried deep inside it. More importantly, these works not only show the artist’s humanistic care for life on boarders, but also provoke the mutual yearning for the sense of existence hidden in the audience’s heart.
