Li Huayi

1948 Born in Shanghai, China

1954 Began studying under Wang Chimei, son of Yang Yiting

1964 Began studying Western Painting and Drawing from Zhang Zhongren, a graduate of Belgium Royal Academy of Art

1969-1976 During Cultural Revolution, was a worker artist doing propaganda art for the Communist Party

1982 Moves to San Francisco and lives there

1984 Receives his Master of Fine Arts Degree from Academy of Art, San Francisco

2005 Becomes disciple of Chen Peiqiu, master of Chinese painting from Shanghai

Now lives in San Francisco, US
